Engineering Manager – Platform & DevOps

We’ve an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join rapidly growing scale up organisation. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Engineering and build and lead a new Platform team. This hands-on leadership role looking for candidates with mix of skills in software engineering, cloud architecture, DevOps strategy, and people management. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will design and deliver core platform capabilities including CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, observability, security, developer tooling, and shared engineering services.

The successful candidate will own AWS infrastructure, improve reliability and scalability, establish platform standards, drive automation, and embed security practices across engineering workflows. We are looking for an ambitious, growth minded individual to lead incident response, define SLOs and SLAs, and partner with engineering teams to improve developer experience and delivery speed. As the team grows, the successful candidate will hire, mentor, and develop Platform/DevOps engineers while managing delivery, priorities, and cross-team initiatives.

We’re looking for candidates with the following attributes:

• 7–10 years of software engineering experience, including platform, infrastructure, or DevOps work
• Strong .NET Core and Angular experience
• Deep AWS knowledge (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
• Proven ability operating enterprise-scale distributed systems
• Experience leading teams, hiring, and developing engineers
• Strong security, reliability, and scalability mindset
• Comfortable building new capabilities in a startup or scale-up environment

In terms of personality, we are looking to speak to candidates with an entrepreneurial mindset, prior experience in a start up or a scale up would be advantageous. The right person will have a growth mindset, comfortable taking the initiative and developing and enhancing the platform to support future growth. This role is city centre based, our clients strongly believe in the value of in-person collaboration so a 4 day a week on site presence on site is required
