Enterprise SQL Server DBA – Contract

We’ve an excellent opportunity for an experienced SQL Server DBA comfortable operating at the Enterprise level to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation, stability, security, and performance of our client’s Microsoft SQL Server estate, with a focus on business-critical production systems. The role ensures databases remain available, recoverable, and compliant while supporting application delivery and business operations.

Key responsibilities include monitoring SQL Server environments, performing health checks, validating backups, responding to alerts, and resolving production incidents. The DBA investigates performance issues, conducts root cause analysis, and works with Microsoft Support on complex problems. The role supports SSIS/ETL processes, troubleshooting package failures, connectivity issues, and assisting development teams with controlled deployments. Security responsibilities include SQL Server patching, implementing CIS hardening standards, addressing vulnerabilities, and maintaining compliance with internal policies.

The successful contractor will work closely with Operations, Development, and Security teams, balancing proactive system management with reactive incident response.
