Environment & Release Manager
ContractorWe have an ASAP start contract opportunity for an Environment & Release Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end release lifecycle and overseeing technology environments across Development, SIT, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production. The key responsibility is to ensure that software releases are delivered safely, on time, and with high quality while maintaining an efficient, secure, and cost-effective environment landscape.
Other responsibilities include planning and coordinating releases, maintaining release calendars, managing dependencies and risks, defining release governance processes, and driving continuous improvement through automation and CI/CD practices. The role also involves developing deployment standards, monitoring release performance, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. The role is also responsible for overseeing provisioning, lifecycle management, optimisation, and cost control of environments, including cloud and ERP platforms. A strong focus is placed on automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), standardisation, and supporting agile delivery teams.
Our client has a multi-vendor environment and success in the role will require strong collaboration with development, QA, DevOps, operations, vendors, and senior leadership. Responsibilities also include ensuring compliance with security, audit, change, and configuration management standards, managing incidents and escalations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
We are looking to speak to experienced Environment and Release managers, with 10+ years of technology experience, and at least 5 years dedicated experience in release or environment management, with strong knowledge of SDLC, ITIL practices, cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, stakeholder management, risk management, and environment optimisation strategies.
