Head of Software Engineering

Would you like to join a disruptor with plans to fundamentally shake up a major vertical as they start a major growth journey? Our clients are looking to hire an experienced Software Development Manager / Engineering Manager with the experience of having been through the start up / scale up process a number of times who can bring those lessons learned to bear on their own development. The successful candidate with lead a team currently delivering a SAAS based product, leading a full-stack team working across a modern cloud-native stack comprised of a Node.js (Angular) Frontend, sitting on a .NET(ASP Core) backed on Amazon Aurora / AWS. S/he will be responsible for delivering the following key responsibilities

•  Lead and mentor the engineering team, taking responsibility for delivery of all engineering development,  ensuring alignment with commercial goals and product vision.
•  Own the Technology Strategy and Roadmap and drive the implementation of AI tools in coding
•  Optimise engineering delivery through shorter release cycles, automation-first QA and measurable performance metrics.
•  Establish and maintain security governance and AI frameworks to meet enterprise standards and reduce compliance risk.
•  Manage senior stakeholders, conduct engineering reviews for executive stakeholders, providing visibility on KPIs, risks and progress.

Qualifications

•  5+ years experience in software engineering leadership roles, 10+ years software development experience overall.
•  Proven background & experience managing Software Development and QA teams in a Start-Up or Scale Up environment, this aspect is required.
• Proven background of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams in a SAAS environment.
•  Strong AI Tooling experience, with a strong technical background with hands-on experience in backend engineering and cloud infrastructure.
•  Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
•  Strong relevant academic background, ideally to Master’s level preferred.
