The Test Lead provides QA leadership across Agile squads, ensuring high-quality delivery of retail and customer-facing solutions. Reporting to the Retail QA Lead, they act as the QA voice within squads, driving quality strategy, readiness, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include coordinating manual and automation testing activities, managing QA capacity, ensuring Definition of Ready/Done compliance, overseeing regression planning, defect triage, release readiness, and providing clear visibility of quality health and delivery risks.

The role leverages AI-driven testing approaches to optimise test design, execution, coverage analysis, predictive risk identification, defect analysis, and intelligent regression selection. User behaviour insights, including analytics data, are used to support risk-based testing and prioritisation of critical customer journeys.

The Test Lead drives QA process improvements, establishes effective governance, maintains quality dashboards, and measures testing effectiveness through defect trends, automation coverage, escaped defects, and delivery metrics.

They provide technical guidance, mentor QA engineers, contribute to automation strategy, review test assets, and remain hands-on with exploratory testing, complex validation, and automation improvements.

The ideal candidate has strong Agile leadership experience, technical expertise in API, UI, integration, and regression testing, familiarity with CI/CD practices and AI-enabled testing tools, and the ability to influence stakeholders while protecting quality outcomes.
