Consultant SQL Server DBA

We have a customer with an urgent need for an experienced SQL Server Consultant / DBA to come on board for an initial 2-month day rate contract period. Our client has an estate that they are looking to consolidate and want to engage the expertise of an experienced SQL Server DBA to help them map out the best path to update their estate and to help them bring it to the level required to meet business challenges moving forward. The core tasks our client is looking for assistance with are as follows

·Manage  / Configure  / Optimise Databases, Database Servers and processes while completing an overall Environmental Health and Stability Check

·Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security

·Refine and automate regular processes where possible tracking and documenting changes

·Advise and plan on how to rationalise the number of servers, and efficiency steps moving forward e.g. the feasibility / suitability of implementing a HA SQL Cluster

·Provide DBA support for critical production systems and issues and support release deployment activities

If time allows the Client would also like a review of other elements and how they impact on the Database instances

Storage review – review current storage architecture and suggest improvements.

Business Continuity Review – review current backup strategy, ensure coverage and test.
